The Public Liaison office for the Patrick administration is currently in the process of collecting stories of people who have “checked back” into their government. By this they mean, people who are NOW taking an active role in improving their community. Such participation may include but is not limited to mentoring, volunteering and being MORE involved in the selection process of their representation. They would like to hear these stories. Their plan at this time is to select 100 stories and post them on the Mass.Gov website. They then plan to go one-step further and conduct video interviews and post them as well.
In order to submit a story you must:
1) Go onto www.mass.gov
2) Click on “Governor and Lieutenant Governor”
3) Scroll down to Civic Engagement and click on “Have You Checked Back In?”
4) Then enter story and contact information in the space provided and click submit when complete.
Please feel free to Contact the Public Liaison Department at 617-725-4020 for any questions.

individualizing citizenship is the 21st century way to stifle dissent and opposition. This idea of inducing anyone to give you a ‘story’ is an obscene understanding of government, the constitution and public morality.
<
p>
Deval Patirck should be concerned that impeachment is the dissent of choice by the good people of Massachusetts.
<
p>
Patrick no more has the interest or ability to represent anyone other than himself let alone a State.
<
p>
casino gambling… hmm that’s a republican interest.
<
p>
no accounting for the previous administration, gee, didn’t we ask him as the so called democratic candidate to account for the money or lack of it in the state when he took office?
<
p>
These newly elected democratic wonders are media democrats and need to go. It should be crystal clear that the democratic party has degenerated into an extension of the republicna party.

we are fast approaching a free fall…economic and constitutional..

Does this comment have any relevance to the post at hand?

Oh, right, you gave lip service in the first two paragraphs to the story by calling this project “an obscene understanding of government, the constitution and public morality.”
<
p>
Back it up. Tell me why this is “obscene”. I’m particularly interested in your views on why this would be unconstitutional.

I do not work for the Patrick administration nor am I a political insider by any stretch of the imagination. A person I have known throughout the campaign and now works in the Public Liaisons office asked me to post this request for stories. I have come to respect and trust this individual. I believe the motives of the Public Liaisons Office are genuine.
<
p> I joined this campaign because I felt Deval and his campaign staff had heart, and this was not just another campaign based on public relations and lies. I am still so emotionally vested in this administration that I am waiting for Deval to let me down. All these mistakes he is making have given me the excuse to say, “Suckered again”. Then a friend of mine had a meeting with Governor Patrick. My friend said, “He is everything we thought he was”. This meeting will not be in the news. You will never hear about it, but it was important at the most fundamental level.

all the citizens who have formed a compact and agreed to a Constitution to
elect representatives to decide matters before the people.

where does it say some individual does an infomercial or uses flattery or personal testimonies to cajole the entire citizenry into believing what has not been made manifest in conduct.
<

If deval patrick was elected to be governor he should govern through the agreed upon channels and work with the legislature , whose individual representatives speak for their constituency.
<
p>
since when do we substitute an anonymous person to give an endorsement of a governor and why does the public liason think we want to pay their salary for this nonsense? Are we in H*ll?

to naysayers who call this window dressing and are firm critics of DP, now is your chance to tell the story of how you “checked back in” because you thought DP needed watching. his dumb mistakes make you realize you need to get involved because this govt needs capable people like you.
<
p>
i will enjoy reading your fleshed out stories.
<
p>
mine will read something like this: got involved when fellow citizens started voting on my equality as a citizen. staying involved to be sure pols, from town meeting member on up to governor, toe the equality line as promised.

that it is a brand new hotline ( they call it an office) under the executive branch. It is intended to allow access to the governor outside or in addition to the regular political and statutory actvity or access availabe to all the citizens of the state.
<
p>
why am I concerned? first of all the governor has never held an elective office in his life— second he has not exercised the avenues of government to give people the opportunity to use the traditional avenues of access to redress grievances or promote their interests of the good of the commonwealth, nor has worked with or against the legislature to put one thing into action Buuuuuut
<
p>
Instead the guy uses his office for private gain to promote the money interests of a subprime lender that is causing havoc with the lives of people across the nation and may be responsible for economic dislocation in our markets.
<
p>
Not only that he takes the cheap road and buys a cadillac
to speed his way….you really cannot make this up.

I mentor. I volunteer. I do LWV stuff. I do campaign schools. I hector. I write. I do GOTV. I preach civic duty to the young and help them enroll to vote.

And I would never cease to do so.

I applaud your civic enrollment. With all due respect this post clearly does not apply to you.
