Amber, you have my CHEERS, BRAVOS and PLAUDITS! As a product of an orphanage, and as the brother of a developmentally disabled sister, I absolutely APPLAUD your advocacy of those in such straits.

Just for the record, the Social Engineers decided my sister could not function well in such an environment as an orphanage, and so we were separated, while she spent time in:

JAIL (The social engineers couldn’t find housing for her.
<
p>
FOSTER “HOMES” (She was sexually abused by residents in both. None, as I understand, were punished).
<
p>
An Institution for the Insane (Which, they decided after 18 months, she wasn’t).
<
p>
And finally, St. Mary of Providence School for Handicapped Girls in Chicago.

We were reunited when she was 18. I have never let her out of my cognizance and care since.
