The Beacon Hill rumor mill has kicked into overdrive on whisperings that Senator Jarrett Barrios may be leaving his Senate seat. Here’s the Cambridge Chronicle’s report.
However, Barrios spokesman Michael Bloom responded as follows to BMG’s request for comment:
Simply put, none of the rumors are true.
So there you have it.
Please share widely!

does it mean that barrios really has no thought to leaving any time soon, or does it just mean that no one has rumored with the real reason he’s leaving? cracks me up and makes me giggle.
eury13 says
is why would he leave his seat?

– Administration job?
– High-paying lobbying gig in Trav’s new firm?
– Shameful fluff scandal?
– Training to be an Olympic biathlete?

One theory I heard is that the Chronicle wants to make people think Barrios is on the way out, or lacks influence, because he has endorsed Dan Rizzo for state senate in this month’s special election (1SM, Travaglini seat), and the Chronicle wants to weaken Rizzo’s support.

I am stating no personal opinion on this theory, just saying that I heard it from someone who knows Cambridge politics very well and am passing it along as a counter-rumor đŸ™‚
