Wendy Williams, co-author of the recently released “Cape Wind — Money, Celebrity, Class, Politics, and the Battle for Our Energy Future on Nantucket Sound”, has a blog. Check it out.
It’s amusing to see how much the righties (Hannity, Howie, et al.) love love love this issue and this book, because it makes Ted Kennedy look bad. Like the stopped clocks they are, they happen to be right on this one, and TK ought to be in everyone’s doghouse. I continue to be baffled as to how our most influential members of Congress — Kerry and Markey — keep a studied neutrality on this. It’s even laughable — both of them compare Cape Wind to manifestly more hazardous facilities — coal, LNG, the Seabrook nuclear plant.
Senator, do you mean to tell me that Cape Wind should be treated similarly to a nuclear plant?
Mr. Markey, do you mean to tell me that you don’t see a major difference between an LNG facility and bunch of windmills?
We’re really desperate for leadership on this issue. I’m tired of talk; I want results.

desperately. You forgot Ted’s lap dog, the esteemed William Delahunt, who only several days ago (Patriot Ledger) started distancing himself from Sen. Kennedy.
I think Delahunt is beginning to see the storm clouds gathering on the horizon.

How any politician in good conscience could any alternative energy source is mind boggling. And yes,
individuals of my ilk are accurate twice a day as is the broken clock.

How about a full page ad addressing the “it will spoil my view” argument – on one side, an artist’s rendition of what the harbor will look like with windmills installed, and on the other, a plane load of flag draped coffins returning from the middle east. Add a simple caption:

That could get some folks to change their minds…
