I am told that the following policy applies to user posts and comments on this web site:
“Insults, personal attacks, rudeness, and blanket unsupported statements reduce the level of discourse, interfere with our basic objective, and are not permitted.”
I have noted a disparity between the lofty goals of this policy and actual comments and posts made by site users, which are permitted to remain. Would the editors please provide clarification for the benefit of all users as to what exactly is, and is not permitted on this private space, in the interest of promoting compliance with the above-stated policy? Or if the policy is, in the words of Nixon Press Secretary Ron Ziegler, “no longer operative,” please let us know so that site users can know what to expect and prepare themselves for mudwrestling.

This Is Not Your Goddamn Blog. It is obvious they are not listening to you. They want to run it wat they want to. This is not a democracy. And they don’t pretend it is.

Go out and start your own blog or find another one you are happy with. Don’t show up here like a lawyer walking into some backwords town hall going to make them go by the rules.
<

It doesn’t work that way in a capitalist country.

(This isn’t Russia. Is it Tommy?)

What you have here instead are family rules. Yes someone is SUPPOSE to clean kitchen everynight. Someone is SUPPOSE to walk the Dog. Never happens. Different people treated differently.

Policy

The purpose of Blue Mass. Group is to develop ideas that will invigorate progressive leadership in Massachusetts and the nation. Robust debate is an important means to that end. We welcome bold, constructive observations. To us, this means commentary typical of thoughtful discussion between acquaintances who may hold differing views on important issues, but who debate those issues in a respectful manner. Insults, personal attacks, rudeness, and blanket unsupported statements reduce the level of discourse, interfere with our basic objective, and are not permitted.

this comment is abusing the ratings system and should be warned. There is no defensible reason to give John’s post a zero; indeed, a perusal of “they’s” rating history reveals a pattern of abuse.

and it’s been tiresome for a while now. These complaints are disruptive and should be deleted.

Since no landlords appear to be home or interested, what the hell.

He didn’t follow the format or the rules established for quoting that involve using the blockquote command. So I think the zero is appropriate because he is trying to argue policy without following established policy himself.

I find that very ironic.

He is nitpicking policy and not following it while doing the nitpicking. Sorry it’s not good.

… just the manner in which it is applied.

There is nothing productive about what you are doing. I understand your point, you’ve made it. Since nobody is responding to your pleas, it’s counterproductive to keep at it. You’re just going to irritate more and more people. Sometimes it’s best to back off, lick your wounds and go on to something else. The world does not revolve around the rules of this blog. When the legal fabric of our country, the constitution, is being shredded, it seems rather foolish to focus so much attention on BMG policies. There are bigger fish to fry.
noternie says
The poster thinks he’s defending the “legal fabric” of this blog, which he thinks is “being shredded.”

The blog contains many posts which call people in the political and media world hypocrites. And he thinks the blog itself is hypocritical.

So let him voice his opinion. There words on a screen. They are not the equivalent of falsely shouting fire in a crowded theatre in any way shape or form.

as I write this. Done. No longer interests me. I’m also extremely creeped out by getting 6’s from Peter Porcupine. đŸ˜‰ What has the world come to?

I thought the whole point of blogs and blog threads was to post what YOU found to be important, then others could chime in and either agree or disagree in dialog.

Honestly, all this attention doesn’t amount to much more than trying to shout someone else down in my opinion, and that does not sit well with me on a progressive blog.
