It is one thing to be a progressive candidate in theory. It is quite another to be a progressive candidate in practice. I have extensive experience with the issues that are important to us. I am known in many communities and have developed a network of respected and informed contacts. I have the motivation and passion to best represent the Middlesex/Suffolk/Essex district.
My district extends from Saugus to Allston-Brighton, from Cambridge to Chelsea and encompasses Everett, Charlestown and Revere. It is enriched by its diversity of race, income, ethnicity, educational opportunities and, as is true of any district, gender and age. My professional background as a teacher, businesswoman and artist make me uniquely qualified to understand and respond to constituent needs. I also know what it is like to be a single parent on a tight budget, struggling to obtain affordable housing, good education and adequate healthcare. I am the daughter of a West Point graduate and pilot. My father was killed during the Korean War at the age of 26 when I was 11 months old and as a result I am a Gold Star Daughter for Peace. I have always felt a very intense obligation to make sure that this country becomes a place that is worthy of the sacrifice he made. I understand that bad things really do happen to good people and believe that state government must play a crucial role not only in assisting its citizens during hard times but also in ensuring equal access to the benefits of prosperity.
I have had the pleasure of working with many of you on these important issues:
Romney?s attempted elimination;
As a member of the Senate, I will maintain a strong progressive stance to give these issues the voice that they deserve:
I invite you all to join my campaign. The pundits may see me as an underdog in this race but we just saw how a grassroots effort could win the highest office in the state. Finally, I am honored and thrilled to announce that Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner has given me his endorsement. We expect more to follow.

didn’t say in your post, Councilor Turner, of course, is a Green-Rainbow Party member, so was just wondering.

Unlike Mr. Jeff Ross who simply said he was a progressive and never backed it up with the bonda fides you do seem fairly genuine in your concerns and issues but I also have a few questions to ask you.
<

Do you have any prior political experience? (elected position, position on an unelected board, etc.)
<
p>
How long have you lived in this district? Are you from this district?
<

What are the three most important priorities for this district and how do you plan on delivering them?

What are your thoughts about the current Senate leadership?
