What happens if the Provincetown officers are gay?

Let’s take a break from the EBIII, John Hosty and Tudor flame war for a minute here. 

What if the police officers that arrested Barry are gay?  I mean how do you know if they are gay or not.  I have acquaintances and co-workers that at first glance don’t appear to be “gay”, but are.  How does John Hosty, Laurel or Tudor know or not know that the arresting officer was gay or not?  Is there evidence to the contrary.

If that officer were gay how does this rise to the level of Gay bashing?  Can one gay man that attacks another gay man be guilty of Gay Bashing?

  1. is immaterial.  it is the attacker’s words and actions that are pertinent.  and of course one gay person can bash another.  just look at the closet cases Karl Rove, Ted Haggard, Mark Foley and Ann Coulter.  They bash(ed) gays right and left, albeit verbally and politically, not physically.

    • Besides Ted Haggard do you have any proof that any of the other three are gay, or have gay tendencies?  If you don’t that’s libel.

      • Congressman Mark Foley, Republican from Florida, resigned today just hours after ABC news questioned him about a series of sexually explicit instant messages involving current and former underage male Congressional pages. Foley used the login name Maf54.

        Maf54: Do I make you a little horny ?
        Teen: A little.
        Maf54: Cool.

        Foley was the chairman of the house caucus on missing and exploited children and has long crusaded for tough laws against those who use the Internet for sexual exploitation of children.

    • Please oh please do not even suggest that Ann Coulter is a lesbian. I would pay money (John Henry – please help) to keep her off the team. Trade her to Japan or Cuba. If she does show up on the roster, she immediately goes on the DL.

    There was a case in IIRC Springfield MA a few years ago in which one perp in an incident, after having been accused of a hate crime (sexual orientation, against a victim who was gay or who was perceived to be gay) tried to get the hate crime aspect dismissed on the basis that the perp was himself gay.  The judge in that case properly refused to dismiss the hate crime portion of the charge.

    I’ve been away for a while, but is there any evidence that the crime might rise to a level of a hate crime?  There are specific evidentiary requirements for that.  I’ve been away for a while and I have no idea what the evidence adduced since I left the Wild West has been.
