The following message was posted on the Arlington Town Democratic Committee email list at the request of Susan Shaer, Jim’s wife. I pass this on for Jim and Susan’s friends in this audience.
Some of you may already know that Jim’s mother passed away on Wednesday, August 22nd. Janet Marzilli developed Multiple Sclerosis over four decades ago and suffered numerous physical problems, including living her life in a wheelchair. Through it all, she kept a positive attitude — a way at looking at the world she transferred to her children and everyone around her.
Jim had just launched his campaign for an unexpected open seat for the State Senate when we heard the news. While the campaign has been temporarily suspended, we did learn today that the primary will be held on Tuesday, November 13th, 2007, and Jim will be reviving his efforts to win this seat soon. Janet would have loved this! She was a political junkie, especially when Jim was involved.
Memorial services will be held this Thursday, August 30th at 5 pm at Follen Community Unitarian Church, 755 Mass Ave., Lexington. A reception will follow.
