Bob and I have had a most enjoyable day so far. We both boarded early morning flights to Chicago and arrived quite bleary eyed, but a caffeine infusion at one of Midway Airport’s finest eating establishments took care of that. A brief cab ride took us to the McCormick Place convention center, home of this year’s YearlyKos convention.
Bob and I were on the 12:30 state and local blogging panel (at which we showed Bob’s excellent PowerPoint presentation). We had quite a good turnout, and the lively discussion brought out several very good ideas for ways we can enhance our outreach efforts. We also attended state and local “caucuses,” at which a variety of New England bloggers (some familiar to us, some not) exchanged ideas for how we can more effectively work together, both to assist our neighbors in important regional races, and also to export New England’s blueness to other parts of the country. Again, some very good ideas emerged, and we’ll have more to say about that soon.
Now we’re in the grand ballroom awaiting the evening keynote, which features Senator Richard Durbin and DNC Chair Howard Dean. Good times.
We’ll have additional posts, as well as some photos, in due course.

Midway is good as far as airports go so you should try and eat at Mannys Deli in the airport when you fly out. its just as good as the actual Manny’s (which is a bit too far from McCormak Im afraid). Harry Carays is a bit overpriced for food but Ive been told by some older classmates that they have a good beer selection.
