I'm just digging out from under after the Fifth CD primary. I'm sitting this one out and feel out of the loop. Are any BMGers working this one? A rainy day for a special on 9/11 – it should help the camp with the best GOTV organization.
What can I say? I'm an addict looking for a fix. Send me information.

Temperature: 70° F, 21° C… Relative humidity: 36%… Wind direction/speed: NNW, 9 mph… Barometer: 30.15 … Visibility: 10…
Sounds about right.
If this green on my weather radar is any indication, the relative humidity is closer to 100, and the visibility isn’t too great. Who is supposed to benefit from low turnout?
Who’s a relative of this Humidity guy, and is he on the payroll?
Primary Day when Galluccio and Alice Wolf ran for the open State Reps’ seat (1996?), it rained all day and was colder. Galluccio lost by 90 votes.

Not my prediction for this race but I would bet Anthony is having flashbacks
What kind of knucklehead doesn't vote because it's raining?

who has not made his or her decision until election day. I don't consider them to be knuckleheads, just people with different priorities than we have. You and I can not understand it, but like it or not, we are in the minority.
In my humble opinion, you should never have your mind made up so far in advance. New info may always pop up that can change your mind even on the day of an election.
That being said, new info won't change my mind today because I won't be voting. Its raning pretty hard out there.
I understand about indecision, I don't care about gettin' behind, people livin' in competition, all I want is to have my peace of mind…
Seriously, I understand that. I understand twenty-eleven different reasons for not voting at all: Hate the candidates, hate politics, don't know enough, don't care, different priorities, etc. etc.
But I don't understand someone who would vote … except it's raining. Huh?
it can be a real problem for people who are disabled in certain ways. however, for the able-bodied, yup, i agree with ya.
There will be voters who will go out in the rain, walk into the booth and then blank the race. THAT escapes me in a special
you go in the hopes the GOTV calls and door-knocks will stop
I love the folks who tell canvassers that they've yet to decide on a race, thinking that it will stop the harassment. The correct answer is “I'm firmly committed to whomever Lyndon LaRouche endorses”.
and locals who the candidate assumes will vote them. Even distant reletives have been know to blank it.
My wife and I voted at 10AM, and we were the 7th and 8th voters to vote in our precinct. It’s generally a pretty low turnout precinct (lots of students & apartment-dwellers), but that strikes me as particularly low. There were a couple of sign holders (for Galluccio & Ross) standing outside the polling place looking bored.
I’m in one of the more liberal precincts in Allston/Brighton. In 2002, Barrios win Allston/Brighton with around 51% of the vote (compared to 48% district-wide).
50% of 8 votes is only 4 votes. Let’s hope a few more folks show up.
Does anyone know when/where election results will be posted? Polls have been closed for about an hour 15 min as I type this.

Galluccio?
It's Galluchio.
I know that we are not supposed to just cut and paste, I just don't have much to add.
With 81 percent of the precincts reporting in Cambridge, Galluccio won 918 votes. Former Norfolk County assistant district attorney Tim Flaherty won 578 votes in Cambridge.
a proven progressive candidate with a voting record and local legislative experience won big
