One person was injured when shots were fired this afternoon on Langdon Street in the city’s Roxbury section. Police said the victim, a male, was taken to Boston Medical Center. But no further information was immediately available on his identity or condition.
Homicide detectives and canine units were sent to the scene. The shooting occurred about a block away from the Emerson Street playground and across the street from a community garden called “The Food Project.”
No word yet whether the shooting occurred “near” any train or trolley tracks.

Not to detract from the import of this post, but I just wanted to comment that the Food Project is a nifty and really worthwhile organization. It’s not just a community garden.
