After the primary cycle we are left with two candidates whose last names generate an emotional appeal beyond any substantive policy positions not already endorsed by the entrenched leaders of the parties they represent and is why 55% of this district is independent and will likely remain so. While I have met and spoken to both Mr. Owganowski and Ms Tsongas and find them reasonable people I don't expect to hear anything more than their national party sound bites. The mavericks are the ones who didn't get their Parties nominations. But also in the race is an independent candidate named Patrick Murphy and he is worth a serious look.
