This year will be a low turnout election. Simply by showing up and voting, you will have the power of five, perhaps even six people on Election Day! That practically makes you a superhero, unless you normally have the strength of five or six adults.
Also, you can vote for bright, young councilors like Sam Yoon who work tirelessly on improving crime responses, dealing with renter’s rights, and working on the little things like fixing streetlights, getting business permits, and sealing potholes to make Boston a cleaner place. (Disclaimer: I’m Sam Yoon’s treasurer.)
But regardless of your final choice, you should register to vote and look out for your own self-interests as well as your city’s. And if you’re interested in getting involved in Sam’s campaign or are looking for more information about this year’s City Council race because it’s completely fallen off everyone’s radar this year, you can email me at hyounpark@livejournal.com.
