WHY in the name of all that is wonderful is the state releasing (SELLING?) data to TWENTY-THREE companies?
Are ANY of these people being offered the sort of credit protection and identity theft protection being demanded from private sector goof-ups?
Indeed, are you among them?
I DO have a license, and I am more disturbed that this info is being disseminated A MONTH LATER on the ultimate ‘Take Out The Trash’ day – Columbus Day Weekend. Has my identity BEEN stolen already?
Please share widely!

p>I would imagine that all that data- save the SS#’s- is public record. Like a town clerk’s residents list. Or your mortgage over at the registry of deeds. Or one’s divorce complaint and motions at the probate court.

That this summer the legislature passed, and the Governor signed, a new law protecting social security numbers and requiring notification of data breaches.
