I even had a guest lecture gig at Tufts University in a “problems in court management” class. I was not done with my “workday” until 9:30PM. I didn’t know if the party was still going, but I was dead on my feet.
demredsox says
The Lexington official results are usually fairly timely.
laurel says
according to prelim results.
demredsox says
4th middlesex, 2006:
Havern, who won with about 60% among 2 candidates, received 69.9% of Lexington.
Marzilli, among 4 candidates, received 72.4% in Lexington.

Of course, all about turnout, but it bodes well.

Congratulations to Jim and to all of the candidates for running what was overall a positive campaign.

Mark your calendars: Tuesday, December 11!

on a strong win (guess I should make that Senator-Elect Marzilli).

I am very proud of my candidate Ken Donnelly. A class act with a political future.

A good night for progressives!
marcus-graly says
so he ain’t senator-elect yet. As far I as know, there’s no Republicans running, so barring any last minute right in campaigns, it’s a done deal.

So Marzilli still has one more race to win.

A former state representative from Billerica.
bean-in-the-burbs says
Just for knowing who the Republican candidate is? (Although perhaps it was deserved… he doesn’t have the easiest name to spell).

demredsox says
But will he be likely running for state rep should Marzilli take the general?
laurel says
He’d have to move from Bill-Rick-uh.

…When I was at Ohio State, I had a bf who was from Sudbury. We drove up to the Bahston area and then up to a camping ground on the coast in NH. We passed an exit sign on the highway indicating the exit to Billerica, and he asked me how to pronounce the name of the town. I chose the most idiotic pronunciation I could think of, which, of course, was Bill-Rick-Uh.
<
p>
Shortly after I moved to the Bahston area, the then announcer of NBC’s Today show (I forget her name) was chattering on about Bill-Air-Ick-Uh. It took me a while to figure out what she was referring to.

BTW, I’m sure that you know that there is a Wooster in OH. It’s spelled that way, not Worcester like in MA. But even in OH, the sauce is spelled Worcestershire sauce.

They are very interesting.

Donnelly carried Billerica, and came in second elsewhere.

Hard slogging to turn out just a few votes…
jasiu says
If we start thinking this is a chip shot, we might all be very unhappy campers come December 12. Look at the results pablo posted. Marzilli pulled less than 700 votes combined in the northern three towns of the district. Cangiamila has won before.
<
p>
We still have to do the work to get this one.
bean-in-the-burbs says
But Cangiamila seemed pretty well-spoken at the Arlington forum. I’d agree that this isn’t a race to take for granted. That said, I’d expect Marzilli to pick up many of the voters across the district whose first choice was Donnelly, Murphy or Natale.
striker57 says
My union backed Ken Donnelly and worked hard on his campaign. At last night’s Boston Labor Council Municipal Recognition Dinner, we committed those same resources and effort to Rep. Marzilli’s election final. Taking nothing for granted is the best way to win the final and working families in the 4th Middlesex need Jim Marzilli in that seat.
pablo says
Glad to be on the same team.
