Just read the declaration that was released by the White House yesterday. Another way to bypass Congressional approval by refusing to call this a treaty. Lt. Gen. Douglas Lute, the administration’s deputy national security adviser for Iraq and Afghanistan stated this is
an enduring relationship based on mutual interests.
Just another attempt by the Bush Administration to keep US forces in Iraq on an indefinite basis. How many more lives need to be lost? How many more injured?

I’d like to know what is mutual here. The only thing I see that we have in common is lives lost.
<
p>As of today, the total of American Military deaths has risen to 3876. Iraqi deaths due to the US invasion amount to an estimated 1 million+.
<
p>Oh, wait! Se even in deaths we are unequal and have little in common. There is no reason for the US to darken Iraq’s doorstep even one more day. It is time we apologized, and left them to clean up the mess we made.
<
p>Cruel and heartless? Possibly. But the alternative is worse.

Bush wants the U.S. to stay in Iraq Forever, and Maliki wants to stay Prime Minister. So we keep the troops there.
