I just got a call from the Cangiamila campaign, urging me to support Cangiamila (R) for the 4th Middlesex senate seat. The sales point used by the caller was: “and he supports the marriage amendment”.
This is pathetic in two ways:
A bit of earlier related discussion here.
UPDATE. Stealth campaign: Either Cangiamila doesn’t want it widely known that he’s running an anti-gay campaign, or he has no intention of following through for his anti-gay constituency. I mull this over because there is no indication of his stance on The Gay on his website.
Please share widely!

looks like rob willington is working hard on the 4th middlesex election. i just can’t figure out whose side he’s on; he’s bringing in andy card to cheerlead for cangiamila.

In an essay published in today’s Lexington Minuteman, Cangiamila had this to say:

Question: does he have anything to say about the hard working people who collected signatures for the Health Care Amendment that got canned without even a vote of the full legislature? No? So then he doesn’t really care about “the people” getting their day at the ballot box. He only putatively cares about the anti-gay people getting their day. Nice fella!

Either way, they really need to work on their targeting. I can’t imagine there’s anything in your voter history that pegs you as likely to vote for a Republican.
<
p>By all means, let them waste their time and resources convincing solid progressives to vote for their guy.

i considered keeping the woman on the line for a while to burn up her valuable time, but didn’t have the heart to do it. she sounded like a pretty earnest lady, even if she was pushing a candidate who thinks he’s more qualified for the full benefits for citizenship than i am. it is so rare that i get to speak with a ‘phobe supporter who is using a gentle grandmotherly voice. i relish the moment, even though it was false and brief.

Irrespective of whether it was an in-person call or a robo-call, the candidate is responsible for the content of the call

…I believe I heard a TV or radio ad from his campaign yesterday that mentioned the “gay marriage” issue.

When I first saw the headline, I was thinking: how could Caligula be against any sort of so-called sexual deviance?

Yellow is the color of the “one man – one woman” stickers that the anti-marriage forces sported at the con cons.

I am not accusing Cangiamila of being a yellow elephant. I have no idea what he thinks about Iraq, etc. What I’m saying is that “yellow elephant” is the first thought that springs to mind when I see a yellow sign promoting a republican. I think it’s a bad choice of colors on his part.
