p>One of the times that the “good old days” don’t hold a candle to what is happening right now. These are incredible times in New England sports.

p>Miami just won, so they have a little less to play for next week (they will get crushed anyway). I don’t see the Pats losing to Eli and the Giants when 16 and 0 is on the line…

<
p>And who did Miami beat to avoid an ofer season? Those same guys from Baltimore who were one bad decision away from spoiling the Pat’s perfect season.
<
p>What’s up with that team anyway? If I were a Cleveland fan, I’d be pretty happy right now with how that whole thing worked out (and how about those snow-game highlights yesterday! Love it!).
Baltimore was one bad decision away from winning the game against Miami, but they decided to go for the tie and force overtime. Didn’t quite work out how they wanted….

But I was driving home going through the Fresh Pond rotary in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I heard it on the radio and I pulled over and literally wept.
It’s a tall order, not to mention the fact that we probably want Moss to get 4 of ’em to beat Jerry Rice’s own record.
<
p>I picture a series of drives next week that stall at the 3 yard line, with Brady throwing a pass to Moss in the end zone. Frankly, I was surprised not to see that today, on the series that ended with Maroney running it in from the 2.
Not 5. 5 will beat the record, but if Brady gets 4 he still has the record – he’ll just be sharing it, unfortunately.
<
p>Furthermore, in one of those games, we’re playing the Dolphins. Brady could throw for 5 against them alone, barring terrible weather. I honestly don’t think the Giants are going to be much more difficult for us. I’m expecting 3 TDs against the Dolphins and 2 against the Giants – that’s not a tall task and one Brady could ultimately surpass.
<
p>All that said, it’s still not a dilemma. Brady’s chances to break the record are almost completely independent from the team’s chances to go 19-0 (I’m not joining the 16-0 bandwagon, because 16-0 is useless if it doesn’t come with a superbowl). The only way their futures could be linked is if Brady continues to throw like he did against the Jets and we lose either of the next two games. Personally, I doubt that will happen – and I doubt Brady would have played nearly as poorly against the Jets if we didn’t have our run game going for us. Quite frankly, we didn’t need a 4th Quarter Miracle from Brady that would have given him a TD or two… and that’s always a good thing.
I never said it was either/or…that’s why the question opened with “imagine if…”
<
p>I want Brady to break the record, and not tie it. I want Peyton Manning off my tv screen during commercial breaks, I want him out of the playoffs, I want him out of the record books. Geez I can’t stand him.
<
p>The Sunday forecast right now calls for a high of 45 and a 50/50 chance of rain. Not exactly passing weather, particularly after a chance on snow on Friday. Brady could do anything wit ha football that any mortal can do right now, but I’m a good New England sports fan — I dread the worst no matter what.
p>Watch him get no TDs this Sunday, only to throw 6 against the Giants… or some crazy situation like that. We live in Boston, after all, and these things tend to happen.
<
p>Man, we’re going to be screwed in the 22nd century.

Imagine you could only have 1…which would it be?

p>1. Tom Brady as 2007 MVP

p>2. Patriots undefeated in the regular season
It’s only a dilemma if you can only have one =p At this point, both are probably going to happen.

Boston sports kicks ass now! LOL
