Obama — This is a meaningless primary. Without personal presence, a GOTV operation, ad spending, or anything else you may as well be asking people to vote on their favorite ice cream. Had this been a real primary, we would have won.

p>Clinton — This is a meaningful primary. Without personal presence, a GOTV operation, ad spending, or anything else people voted who they think would be a great president, not who they were cajoled, manipulated, or bullied into supporting. This was a real primary, and we won.

very funny! i guess edwards would use the ‘obama’ response too.
<
p>in all sincerity tho, i actually believe the ‘clinton’ blurb to be realistic. i take the result of the dem primary, whatever it ends up being, to reflect accurately on the feelings of the fl electorate. mainly, this is because it is reported that there were other issues on the ballot that really has brought out voters, not just dem political junkies who knew their trip to the poll was for naught.

The Democrats were real fired up–at the polling place I worked, there were frequently lines of Democrats running out the door (had to limit how many we could let in due to fire reg’s), while the Republican line was usually not so long…R’s were able to get in and out quicker since their lines were shorter (this was in an affluent, mostly white neighborhood with a lot of Democrats. Republicans seemed more interested in the ballot Amendment 1 (a horrible thing that did win, and will drive our state into an even bigger financial hole than it’s in now, unfortunately).
<
p>Two important lessons from Florida…one, the tide is turning toward the Democratic side, and two, anyone who wants to win Florida needs to advertise on TV, not robocalls, not stupid-ass mailbox flyers that nobody believes. The opponents of Amendment one shot themselves in the foot by allowing Charlie Crist to have the TV audience (FL not big on reading) all to himself for promoting Amendment 1.

have taken to Florida voters here. Digby makes the case here. Yes, there may be no delegates as a result of this, but it is not the business of MSNBC to dismiss the voters as silly for voting in that primary. Florida Democrats expressed their preference, and MSNBC can explain how party politics might mean no delegates come of it, but to add a snipe opinion is unnecessary for news broadcasters.

Clinton up by 21 % with 50% reporting. She has more votes then either McCain or Romney on the Republican side.
<
p>In a state where the primary “doesn’t count” Democratic voters come out in record numbers to be heard and they vote Clinton a majority in a three way race.

It’s 51/32/15 Clinton/Obama/Edwards, 36/32/15/13/3/1 McCain/Romney/Giuliani/Huckabee/Paul/Thompson, so Giuliani’s gotten himself up from a humiliating 4th to a merely embarrassing 3rd.
<
p>Oops, just hit reload again, with 66% reporting on the Dem side, Clinton’s down to 50 and Kucinich is up to 1.
<
p>Bye bye, Rudy.
