Okay, here’s my list:

p>(1) A Democratic President that will fix what’s ailing the Bay State and the United States at large.
<
p>(2) An end to our illegal, messy, stupid, immoral, unnecessary and wrongheaded war on and occupation of Iraq. let the Iraqis deal with their own affairs.
<
p>(3) Here’s hoping that the necessary 2-state solution, which is the only safe, sane and sensible solution to the decades-old, festering Israeli/Palestinian conflict emerges and comes into fruition
<
p>(4) Here’s hoping our presently-tanking economy gets back on track.
<
p>(5) Here’s hoping that we get better weather soon, and that spring comes early
<
p>(6) Here’s hoping that some of the golden-oldie-but-goody movie classics get back to some revival theatres. I begrudge sitting home and watching movies on TV, except for occasionally, which is why I don’t own a DVD player, let alone one of those ultra-fancy home-theatre systems.
<
p>(7) That more screenings of my alltime favorite film, West Side Story
come to my general area, and even to neighborning states. God, I love that film. I recently saw the movie Romance and Cigarettes, which I enjoyed. While it’s certainly not West Side Story, it’s definitely worth seeing, imo. Same can be said, imo, for Gone Baby Gone and No Country for Old Men Next on my seeing list is Atonement.

p>Healthcare is needed for all!! The number of people in this country and in the Bay State who’re either without health insurance altogether, or are inadequately covered, this is a necessity. The fact that the USA is the only developed, industrialized Western country without a comprehensive universal healthcare plan is a complete and total disgrace! Here’s hoping better health insurance for people who really need it comes about for 2008.

And I want someone — anyone — to beat Mike Huckabee.
Including Mitt Romney?
I’d take him over Huck in a second.
