We’ve seen a couple of people post information on their candidacies for DSC. I am also a candidate for DSC. I am both on the ballot and unopposed, so barring something extraordinary, I expect to be reelected. If you live in the Middlesex and Worcester district (Pam Resor), I ask for your vote.
As a DSC member I am especially interested in involving people in the Democratic Party. BMG has become a real resource for spreading the word about Democratic Party events and issues. It provides a way of reaching people that we might not otherwise reach. David, Charley and Bob have all been very good about front paging Democratic Party information coming from John Walsh, me and others.
There are many ways to take part in the governance of the DSC. DSC meetings and sub-committee meetings are all open to registered Democrats. PatrickA, who posts here regularly, is just one example of a non-member who regularly attends. Watch www.massdems.org for information on meetings.
In her post about her candidacy, Patricia mentioned the Communications Sub-Committee of the DSC. Arthur Powell and I co-chair this committee. Occasionally I hear concerns from people I meet about information that does not get disseminated. If there is information that you need that you are not able to access or you feel that could be better publicized, please contact me or Arthur. I can be reached at KateDonaghue@aol.com.
I’ll close out this post by inviting you all to subscribe to the Democratic Dispatch, a more or less weekly newsletter of Democratic events across the state. Just send an e-mail to DDemDispatch-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

does the work of ten people. She is one of the most committed Dems I’ve ever known. If she isn’t canvassing, she’s phone banking, and if she’s not doing either of those, she’s bound to be at some event or meeting talking to people about how to be more involved (or she’s in her car on her cell phone trying to figure out where she has to be next while working on her personl contact list). Kate even manages to insert political discussion into Pat game open threads. She’s a phenomenon (and a good friend to the grassroots and the party). Vote Kate!

and I don’t even have Kate as my Worcester rep. I know her going back to the Dean days, and she’s the reason I know anything about the state party structure. I had never heard of a Democratic town committee when I first met her, and now I chair one.

p>She is all you say and more. All of you who can vote, vote for Kate. đŸ˜‰

p>In addition, so many issues are larger then one district, the way DDemDispatch helps folk stay in touch is a terrific help to us all.
