Porcupine is precisely right on this one: over-commercialized know-it-alls and self-appointed NFL royalty. Pity about Green Bay; the stakes are all the higher for the SB. GO PATS!

I’m not much of a fan of the Mannings, but they can play. Sure, I’m sick of Peyton’s mug on TV, but Eli doesn’t say a heckuva whole lot. Peyton was kinda funny on SNL, as was Brady.
<
p>And I’m not sure where you get the ‘self appointed NFL royalty’ stuff. Their Dad had a long NFL career on a bunch of incredibly crappy teams, back in the era when rules offered QB’s little protection and they regularly got their knees and kidneys speared. He seems decent enough. Certainly less annoying than Shula or Ditka.
<
p>Did one of the Mannings say something mean about Obama that I missed?
<
p>Either way, as much as I sometimes dislike the Pats opposition, beating worthy opponents is what makes sports more enyoyable. I never really got the ‘Jeter sucks’ or ‘Peyton sucks’ business.
The Mannings are talented athletes. So they’ve endorsed a few products. They’re hardly alone in that respect. And I have no idea what “self-appointed NFL royalty” means, but to the extent the media wants to play along, why wouldn’t the Mannings let them?
<
p>Boston vs. New York rivalry is all well and good, but this personal stuff strikes me as unseemly.
p>Also I have to agree that watching Farve lose was very painful for all the reasons Porcupine stated and just because I really respect a guy that old going out and busting his neck for my entertainment. Personally I think GB played the better game for the majority of it and had that last drive worked they wouldve been fine. Who would’ve thought that Tynes after f—ing up twice on the kick would make the third and LONGEST kick? Oh well. Bring em on!

‘Personally I think GB played the better game for the majority of it and had that last drive worked they wouldve been fine.’
All the morons are going to say that the Patriots are vulnerable, they “only” won by nine points, blah blah blah.
<
p>This team had 1 pass to its best receiver. The league MVP, their quarterback, had the worst day of his post-season career. And they won easily. Scary…just scary.
<
p>So, better team: 2007 Patriots, or 1986 Celtics?

I was wondering about this after the game yesterday when I noticed TB limping, but we’ll have to see how it goes. He didn’t seem right in the game, and not just because of the picks. HT Mike Reiss
<
p>The line in Vegas opened at 14 I believe, and the last time I looked it was down to 12.5, which still seems a little high to me.
<
p>I thought that the SD was closer than you describe. A red zone TD by the Chargers would have made a big difference. I never really felt that the Pats had the game until the mid point of the 4th quarter when they just choked the life out of them.
<
p>Even if Brady isn’t 100% for the SB, the Pats will still win. The first time they saw the Giants they played without Kyle Brady, Nick Kazur and Stephen Neal, plus they were trying to throw for TD records. They can do it any way they have to.
<
p>I won’t say this Pats team is better than the ’86 Celtics (it’s sort of apples and oranges), but every bit as dominant and remarkable. That ’86 Celtics team was the best Celtics team that I can remember seeing and provided the Pats finish like they should, this will be arguably their best SB team.
I think he will.
Congrats to the Pats.
Brett Favre broke my heart. Well I can put on my New England hat now! Ahhh, the benefits of “dual citizenship.”
…but it was not to be.
<
p>If the Pats had to lose the Superbowl, losing it to BF would have been an honorable defeat.
<
p>That said, let’s eviscerate yet another Manning boy before he begins to make TV commercials!
Did one of them kick your dog or something?

Deja vu all over again.
<
p>GO PATRIOTS! Beat those evil Yankees. New Yorkers. New Jersey Giants!
I am waiting for the increased local aid, lower property taxes and 1,000 more police.
<
p>When are those coming?
<
p>After a World Series and AFC Championship these should ne easy.
everything else is gravy. đŸ˜‰
Ill take another two championships definitely!

p>Huh. Here’s a couple of stats from yesterday.
<
p>3rd down effiency: NYG 6-16, GB 1-10
Passing Yds: NYG 380 GB 236
Rushing Yds: NYG 134 GB 28
Time of Poss: NYG 40:01 GB 22:34
Turnovers: NYG 1 GB 2

p>The Giants dominated in every category, and I thought that they should have won that game by 10 points in regulation.
sucked ass the whole second half. It’s no wonder they lost. They were damn lucky that what’s-his-name missed two FGs to get them into overtime.
<
p>Would’ve been fun to see Favre vs. Brady. But Favre played a lousy game, and that’s what happens in the playoffs.
