While watching a wrap up of scenes from the final events seeking Republican votes in Michigan it suddenly struck me that all the candidates were raising the same concerns that Michael Moore did in his 1989 Movie “Rodger and Me” only Moore did it better (See synopsis)

So it only took them (the Republicans) 19 years to hear what he (Moore) had to say. But with regard to their solutions this one line from the synopsis struck me as apropos;
In the midst of this rapidly crumbling city (Flint Michigan), the town leaders have gone a little crazy. They quickly devise a series of desperate schemes that seem more like a Marx Brothers movie than serious urban planning:
…it is apparent that he is more (economic) class oriented than political party oriented. We haven’t watched his films until recently, but over the last year we have, and as we watched them that has become obvious.
