Several of my colleagues in the legislature have already endorsed me as well: Senators Bob Antonioni and Pat Jehlen, Representatives Cory Atkins, Ruth Balser, Tom Conroy, Jennifer Flannagan, Geoff Hall, Hank Naughton, and Ellen Story. Also, the Mayor of Fitchburg, Lisa Wong is supporting me.
I spend my nights and weekends on the phone raising money and reaching out to community leaders and Democratic organizers. My campaign HQ is up-and-running on Main St. in Acton, just around the corner from where I grew up. And I hired David Kent as my campaign manager — David was field director for Pat Jehlen’s successful Senate race in 2005, and has been a field organizer for Mass Equality for a couple years. He brings great experience and energy to help move this campaign forward.
I am happy with our great start, but I can’t win this election without your help. Please join us on Saturday at 11AM when we will be going door-to-door to collect nomination signatures and talk to voters. If you want to volunteer, please contact my campaign at 978-929-2975 or email eldridgeforsenate@gmail.com . If you can’t make it this Saturday but are interested in helping out at a later time, please let us know that too.

Jamie, Great work on those endorsements. It is tribute to all your work at the State House, in the 37th Middlesex and throughout the state that you have endorsements from so many elected officials. It speaks volumes about your activism that you have so many endorsements of Democratic Town and Ward Committee members.

It is so nice to read posts from a candidate who a) understands blogging, b) knows that there is a lot of value in the medium and c) really wants to read what people have to say. You do show your progressive side by putting up these posts and by responding to people. Go Jamie!

about Jamie Eldridge running to become state senator is we’ll no longer have him in the House. =(

p>Good luck, Jamie! I hope you win by an overwhelming margin.

Hi, I’m David Kent, Jamie’s Campaign Manager. As Jamie says in his post, he needs you. If you can volunteer this Saturday, or any other time, give me a call at the office: 978-929-2975. You can also email me at eldridgeforsenate@gmail.com.

p>This campaign is going to be simple. We want to have one-on-one conversations with the voters on their doorsteps. So please come, spend some time with us, knock on some doors, and help elect Jamie Eldridge to the State Senate.
<
p>PS — I’ll be at the Mass Alliance training this Sunday to present on voter contact and field programs, and I hope to see many BMGers there, just like at the one in November. You guys were a great asset to the last workshop, and I hope you are there again this weekend to share your thoughts.

… manager behind his run for the 5th? Just curious.

I can’t remember who did, though…

I did some volunteer canvassing and phonebanking for Jamie but did not manage the campaign.

Does anyone know if others have declared an intention to run as well?
<
p>(Not that it matters much to me.. Its very difficult for me to imagine someone as well qualified and progressive as Jamie. But just asking..)

Steve LeDuc had told me that he was considering a run. He has jus accepted a position as Assistant Clerk Magistrate. To my knowledge, no other Democrats have taken out papers. Steve will not be running.
