Two things keep coming up about Hillary Clinton, both here and elsewhere, that seem to be articles of faith about her, but I don’t see the evidence.
One is that she is somehow too negative. Several posters on the “Let’s Play Campaign Manager” thread said she should stop being negative. What has she said besides she has more experience than he does and that words alone do not make a good President? That’s one comparison point on style and one on substance, but hardly negative. If what I have cited is what we call negative how badly are we going to cower when the GOP goes after whomever is our nominee?
The other is that she and Bill will do whatever it takes to win. Being a shrewd politician is one thing, but the implication is that they go beyond ethical boundaries. Can someone please give a concrete example of what either of them has done in a campaign that constitutes whatever it takes in a bad way? The Clintons can’t hold a candle to Lee Atwater or Karl Rove in this department.
