… that 15-year old boy, that is!
Carl Stanley McGee, a top aide to Governor Patrick … well, just read the story:
Carl Stanley McGee was arrested Dec. 28 at the Gasparilla Inn & Club in Boca Grande and has been charged with violating the state’s prohibition against sexual battery. Among the allegations described in the police report is the following: McGee and the alleged victim were in the steam room at the hotel the afternoon of Dec. 28 when McGee allegedly removed his towel. He then masturbated in front of the teen, and performed oral sex on him, according to the arrest report.
Acording to the article, McGee makes $115,000 a year as the assistant secretary for policy and planning for Deval.

Actually, that should read “made” $115,000 a year — he’s been on unpaid leave since he was arrested and will be until the charges are resolved, according to the Herald.
mr-weebles says
Good point David.
<
p>I’m surprised there isn’t more discussion about this case.
<
p>Since it’s a major player in Patrick’s administration being charged I thought more people would be interested.
<
p>Perhaps if it was a Republican more people would be chiming in.
justice4all says
and his political career is likely toast. I don’t think there’s much more that we can say until he goes to trial.
eaboclipper says
try and convict Republicans accused of the same things with ease.
laurel says
A republican counterpart to this guy would deserve extra criticism because republicans run on a “we’re the party of high morality!” line. as a consequence, they have set themselves up to be labeled HYPOCRITES when they drop their drawers for anyone other than their approved and vetted heterosexual spousal unit. You can read more about it here. Which reminds me…i should update that diary – thanks for the reminder!
centralmassdad says
that the Democratic position on the type of activity detailed above differs much from that of the Republicans. If true, it was a kid!
laurel says
no.
gary says
Because it’s theatrical.
centralmassdad says
EaboClipper noted that Republicans would be pilloried for this sort of thing here on BMG; you responded that Republicans desreve criticism beacuse they make a point of taking stands on so-called “moral” issues. The implication being that Democrats don’t have a stand on adult-on-adolescent action, or that it is somehow less objectionable when a Democrat does it.
laurel says
that was certainly not the intended implication. i said that repubs doing these things deserve extra criticism. “extra” implies that dems would still get criticism for the act, but not for hypocrisy because there would be no hypocrisy because they don’t claim to be morally superior to anyone else.
gary says
For example, the Democrat pedophile and Republican would each share the 7th level of hell, but the Democrat’s accomodations might have nicer window treatments.
centralmassdad says
for Larry Craigs and spouse cheaters.
<
p>If the Democrats do not pretend to be morally superior to a pedophile, then one wonders why they bother with government at all.
laurel says
just wondering.
gary says
First. Republican scandal v. Democrat scandal. Perhaps it’s ok to be a pedophile, so long as you’re not also a hypocrite about it.
<
p>Second, it happened Dec. 28. Hello Globe? Herald?
<
p>Third, between blowing his hair and little boys, where’d he find time to work? Seriously sport, that’s some weird mutant hair.
