I wish you’d take it down. btw I’m not a Hillary supporter.

You need to lighten up. This was obviously a float in a parade. It’s not sexist. It’s damn funny. You need to seriously lighten up and not think that everything is the world trying to screw with you and your gender.

in what episode did yoda say “You need to seriously lighten up and not think that everything is the world trying to screw with you and your gender.”?
That was funny? I guess you’ve spent to much time reading the dismal science.

It’s interesting that no less then six men had to jump in and immediately dismiss AnnEM’s protestation of sexism. Insecure much?
<
p>One could disagree with Ann by actually taking her concern seriously and stating an opinion as to why she is wrong to see sexism in the float that unflatteringly and inaccurately exaggerates certain female body parts only for comic effect while not having any impact on the substance of the comment. I mean we could have a discussion on sexism, or any time a women raises the specter of sexism we can just dismiss her opinion away like it doesn’t exist.
<
p>“Hey, AnnEM: stop giving opinions and get back in the kitchen and make us some sandwiches!”
I didn’t mean to dismiss her protestation at all: I agree with her (and, JoeTS’s attempt at a joke notwithstanding, I think it’s racist as well), but I don’t think attempting to have a serious discussion on basically anything with nomad is an exercise in futility. I don’t believe he posted this picture because he was willing to discuss the social implications of finding it funny, or even because he thought other people here would find it funny; he just did it to provoke a reaction.
that should have been “…but I think…”, not “don’t think.”

Some people take themselves way to seriously. Since it was my wife that sent me the pic I hadnt figured that SOME people would immedietly seek some “inner meaning”.
But we can never forget that SOME people are always around us .. Makes life so droll IMO .. needing to constantly check the rear view to see whos thin skin is poking through at a given moment ..
Ah well …

If it is from such an authority as Mrs 943, then we know for sure it can’t be sexist. That settles it then. Give my regards to Nomadina for me.
What the float does do is translate the current state of the Democratic primary fight into simple slap stick. The result is one dimensional. To the extent that it has any humor at all it is done at the expense of how Hillary Clinton is rendered with the awkwardness of a large butt and the contrast between the clunky elegance of the high heels and the bite on the ass.
I notice all our resident conservatives love that picture. Is it because you guys have such a seething hatred of all things Clinton (such as peace and prosperity?), or that you can’t wait to deconstruct Obama in the general?
<
p>Or both?

If you want to get all psychobabble here goes.

…acknowledging that I find humor in the political cartoonish idea of Dog Obama biting Hillary in her ass, is it possible, I wonder, to see both good natured humor and the poor taste of sexism all in the same float. Is it possible to see, even if one isn’t offended, that the float could be legitimately offensive in certain ways to other people?
