In just twelve hours, voters across Massachusetts will go to the polls to help choose the Presidential nominees of the Democratic and Republican parties. Voters in the Democratic primary in West Medford and much of Arlington also will have the opportunity to select their nominee to replace current State Senator Jim Marzilli as their next State Representative.
A number of candidates, including myself, have worked hard over the last several weeks to get the message out about the importance of this easy-to-overlook election. Our communities and our Commonwealth will face serious challenges in the months and years ahead. I am proud of my record on the Arlington School Committee and as a progressive voice in the Arlington Town Meeting. I bring a unique background to this race, having a lifetime of experience working hard to create positive change in people’s lives, from South America to the south side of Chicago and to Arlington, where I am now working and raising my family.
I am proud of the endorsements I’ve received from the Boston Globe, from Senator Marzilli, from groups as diverse as SEIU, MLEV, and the AFT, and from countless supporters and volunteers in the 23rd Middlesex District. We’ve placed thousands of phone calls, knocked on doors across the district, and worked as hard as possible over the last month. If you live in the 23rd, you’ve probably heard a lot from us over these several weeks.
Tomorrow is our chance to hear from you. Please remember to vote. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tomorrow night, everyone is welcome to a campaign party we’re hosting at the American Legion, 370 Mass Avenue, in Arlington. The doors open at 7:30 p.m., and we should have complete results by 8:30 p.m.
Thanks,
Jeff Thielman
