Ed Augustus replacing Guy Glodis 4 years ago was the best thing that happened politically in my former district since Jim McGovern represented us. Ed’s great and will be missed if this is true.
Why are all the good senators retiring, and the crappy ones sticking around?

Why stick around when no one is allowed to have one creative thought or propose one idea that the “leadership” doesn’t support? How can you be a progressive, forward thinking politico when anytime you suggest something the “leadership” shoots you down and says that would cost money we don’t have.

Ed has been a breathe of fresh air! Would love to see him take the Education Chair position.
And I was very impressed with the Senator’s intelligence, and the way he ran the committee.
<
p>(the fact that my bill was reported out favorably has notihing to do with it – I thought so at the time).

that he is leaving before being able to reform the petition initiative rules.

Ed Augustus is the best! His departure from the State Senate and from the Central Mass delegation is a terrible loss to progressive forces. This morning’s Worcester Telegram repeats Worcester Magazine’s breaking story, but this time with some confirming quotes from Ed. This is very sad news for all of us.
<
p>It is very hard to imagine that someone as progressive as Ed will be able to win the seat. It might even be a vulnerable seat for the Dems without Ed.
<
p>But we need to remember that it was nearly impossible to imagine that this district would elect someone with Ed’s politics. The seat was held by Republican Matt Amorello before Guy Glodis held it. Progressives in the area need to find a good and viable candidate and unite behind her or him.
<
p>We all wish Ed the best and hope that someone in government or public policy advocacy will be smart enough to put him in a position where he can continue to provide his brand of courageous and effective leadership. Good luck, Ed!

What sad news! Sen. Ed Augustus is the cream of the crop…head and shoulders above the rest…his departure is a huge loss, not just for the folks he represents but for all the rest of us, too.
