Latinos/Hispanics and Blacks have a general history of false zero-sum-game type animosity in this country. Obama has put out the call to transcend old wedge categories. And good for him for doing so (even though he still personally supports the hetero-homo divide. But that’s another diary…)! But what is the reality on the ground? Is he being effective in crossing the Latino-Black divide? So far, it seems that Clinton has out-organized Obama in most Latino/Hispanic communities. Perhaps this is due solely to Clinton being in the game so much longer than Obama. Perhaps it is something else. Anyone have any ‘one the ground’ observations?

is that I’ve received three Hillary campaign calls in two days. Her organization is chugging away at a furious pace. I have not received one Obama call. I do know quite a few politically active Latinos who are working for Hillary’s campaign in this area. There are, however, an equal number of Latinos I know working for Obama. It may be close in this area — can’t tell.

but Obama just picked up a major endorsement from an LA-based Spanish language newspaper.
