We’re pleased that BMG has been named one of the five 2008 contenders for Boston’s “Best Blog/Podcast”! Others in the running are Universal Hub, Allston 02134, Jon Keller, and Dan Kennedy.
If you’re inspired, head on over to the Phoenix’s poll and send some clicky-love our way!
UPDATE: As mojoman notes in the comments, the voting process is a couple of steps. You select the blog you want (*cough*BMG*cough*) on the screen at the link we’ve posted, then click “Submit.” Then you have to tell it that you’re finished (“Skip to Finish”), fill out the form, and then click “Submit” again. Not the most user-friendly thing I’ve ever seen, but nobody asked me anyway.
Please share widely!
By the way, It looks like Romney’s son Josh is looking to run for Congress. I can’t wait until he runs for President in 20 years.
You need to eventually get to this page (scroll down) on the Phoenix site in order to submit your vote. They also prompt you for an email address at the very end of the process.
<
p>If you only go to the single poll that lists ‘Blogs’ (to select BMG), without getting to that ‘Finished Voting?’ page, I’m afraid it will be a vote cast into the ether.
I’m not sure, by the way, that you need to submit a real email address. Just sayin’ …
It wasn’t readily apparent to me on a quick pass that I wasn’t actually submitting a vote.
<
p>For simplicity sake, I just use Bob’s email address when they prompt me for one.
<
p>BTW, the esteemed Jon Keller (widely regarded as the top political analyst in New England ) appears multiple times in the Phoenix polls, under Blogs, TV Broadcasters, and even Bartender.
<
p>He’s a real triple threat apparently.
Using my email address is usually the best practice.
<
p>Impressively, the man widely regarded as the top political analyst in New England (and I say, why not the world?) has started pimping himself:

<
p>Using accepted rules of legal construction, I believe we can conclude that if competition in the TV area is, “formidable,” Mr. Keller thinks less of competition in the Blogs and Bartender categories.
I put in a fake email address, didn’t have a problem…
ugh, I was merely trying to indicate where the submittal process took you, not anything about putting in an actual valid email address. For the record, Bob’s worked well.
Best of luck guys….
Friend of BMG Jimmy Tingle as best comedian.
Jon Keller as best blogger? Huh? Even Dan Kennedy is a lazy choice (no offense, Dan). Clearly, BMG should win out of that group. And the Allston blog seems boring. I wouldn’t even pick that among Boston’s best city blogs (that honor, I think, would go to the China Town blog… which I actually read frequently). Universal Hub is decent, but I typically don’t like blogs that aren’t ‘thinking’ blogs… and instead are more of a glorified RSS feed.
