One of the best things AG Tom Reilly did was sue the Bush EPA over their faulty interpretation of the law to say carbon dioxide wasn’t a pollutant. And the SCOTUS agreed with Reilly. That was a while back.
But the Bush EPA Chief Stephen Johnson still refuses to enforce the law on carbon dioxide.
I think it’s pretty clear that he’s a hack who thinks his sole job is do what his party’s benefactors in the auto industry and coal industry want. But he’s part of the executive branch, and he’s paid to enforce the law. I think it’s time Congress de-funded his salary and took away whatever pension benefits he’s accrued. If he won’t do the job as the Congress intended in the law it passed and as the Supreme Court interpreted it, Congress should not give him taxpayer money as if he were doing the job.
What do you say, Senators Kerry and Kennedy?
