Editor’s Note: I changed the original title (“Hillary Endorses McCain”) so that it would not be misleading. Please avoid “clever” titles that, read literally, say something that isn’t true. –David
In a matter of speaking – Clinton and McCain are piling on Mr. Obama using the same lines. Hillary’s quote from below just makes it that much more stark. Thanks Hillary for trying to make it that much easier for our party to lose in November.
Hillary Clinton told reporters that both she and the presumtive Republican nominee John McCain offer the experience to be ready to tackle any crisis facing the country under their watch, but Barack Obama simply offers more rhetoric. “I think you’ll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say,” she said. “He’s never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002.” Clinton was referring to Obama’s anti-war speech he delivered in Chicago before entering the United States Senate.
And if its all about experience – does Hillary actually have more than McCain? I don’t like our chances in an experience contest with McCain, but I do like our chances making the case for change, which Obama can do a lot better. I pray Hillary loses one of the big states tonight.

p>So what I pray for is a Hillary win in Texas, Ohio and RI so she can go on and the press can finally stop projecting onto Obama and the real person can explain who he is.
will likely get trounced in the general. The problem is that this is becoming ugly even amongst US. Truth be told, if Hillary does not win by substantial margins, I do not believe that she will gain any ground. Since the campaign is getting rather ugly, I believe that Dems will begin to endorse Obama as he will still be ahead ahead in delegates even if Hillary wins one of the two ” big states” or both for that matter. I think folks are forgetting that delegates are distributed proportionally. Also remember that HRC’s and OHB superdelegates DON’T count today. Check this out for fun
Everyone has a different count, since no one has a clue who has what delegates. I think there is a general agreement that Obama has more and it’s in that magic 100 threshold. What I would like is the people voting in the primaries choose our candidate. Not this who endorses who thing you are pushing. The super delegates should go with the vote. Don’t think that Patrick, Kerry, etc. is going with Hillary since she crushed Obama in MA, but proportionally it should be similar. Hillary should not have more super delegates if she has less votes. But it ain’t done yet, two thirds of Democrats think that Hillary should continue even if she loses one of the two big states tonight. I think it’s going to be a sweep of the big states for Hillary and she’ll take RI too. PA is hers as well. Let’s try having the voters decided whom our nominee should be, novel idea huh?
Unless a miracle happens in Baghdad Iraq will be McCain’s albatross, especially if our side keeps playing that 100-year clip. As for exiting the race, I heard on Nightline last night that 2/3 of Democrats polled believe HRC should remain in the race even if she wins only one of the two big states. There are still 600+ delegates to go to make the magic number of 2025 so this is not close to over.
There is no way else to run a political campaign except to draw distinctions between the candidates. That is not “ugly;” that is what we should expect from a campaign. I think this is great for the Democratic party and great for our country. We Democrats get to talk about our main goals, like universal healthcare, over and over again on a national and local stage and the voters in every state are so excited that participation rates have broken all records. I hope it continues onto the convention. This is called real democracy… and we will not get trounced in the general because of it. In fact, because our issues are getting so much exposure, like universal healthcare, it will be easier to convince the American public to support us.
A fun way to waste time…CNN provides a little game to apportion the delegates here.
So it was provocative and leading but I wanted people to tune in so sometimes you have to be. Part of this is about starting a debate and being provocative. I’m not the first one to do that and I see much worse in the blogosphere.
