NY Times article that compares Deval to Barack – sort of a cautionary tale.
While I recognize that there are obvious parallels between both men, I see them as being entirely different creatures. Deval has turned out to be pretty much what I thought he’d turn out to be; I hope that Barack also turns out meet my expectations, but that’s a pretty high bar.

I don’t believe in judging one person based on the performance of another. Just like I think it is obnoxious to predict the Hillary Clinton presidency based on what Bill Clinton did as president, so I think it is pretty lame to try to predict the shape of an Obama presidency from Patrick’s gubernatorial tenure. I do think it is fair to question is there anything behind the campaign rhetoric. But we ask this of every candidate, don’t we? If not, we should.

p>Something tells me that the NYT only mentioned Obama in that article to draw readers in. Many fewer would otherwise read such a think article about the MA governor.

But Obama is running the exact campaign Patrick ran here in Massachusetts. Parallels can and will be made.

put up the high points in detail, please. we know they share some idealistic thoughts and words. show me how they are parallel people and therefore deserving of each being the cautionary tale for the other. if you can’t do that, you’re just repeating group-think from gop central.
<
p>btw, when will you reply to my query on the severin diary about whether you think severin’s use of “axe” was racist or race-baiting? i realize it is more fun for you to attack PJ, but since you are de facto defending severin, it’s only fair you reply.

Obama said to elizabeth hasselbeck “what if someone put the 5 stupidest things you’ve said on youtube….”

p>Looks like blonde-baiting to me. Racist.
