Dole has a serious contender this year in Jim Neal. Dole is, of course, and incumbent. But she’s made a reputation for being piss-poor in constituent services. she’s weak, and Jim is very enticing.

is doing a fundraiser for Jim next month. From what I understand, he is openly gay and a great guy. He needs all the help he can get. There is also a woman state senator running. Neither has much of an edge. Jim Neal has been doing grassroots meetings, which is where my friend became familiar with him.

the news is that the dems won’t back openly gay Jim, and so talked his dem opponent into running some time after Jim had been in the race. pretty pathetic, but then we know that most dems “of stature” haven’t overcome their fear of public lgbt positivity. wish your friend well with the fundraiser!
