OK, I made up the “hard-fought contest” part, and “glorious” is perhaps an overstatement. But a HT to RMG, of all places, for noting that Blue Mass Group was named 2008’s “Best Local Blog” by the Boston Phoenix. (By the way, lots of free entertainment in the comments at the RMG post. Did you know that we are “an offensive website that markets in the hate of traditional values and families”? I guess we need to change the masthead.)
Many thanks to all who voted for us!

That little bit of RMG was a fun read. I’m gay and want higher taxes, but not so much a Jesus hater (hell, I was even a confirmed Catholic – and my first paying job was as a Rectory Monitor in high school LOL).
I liked the argument in the comments about stereotyping BMGers.
Congratulations to Charley, Bob and Dave and all the posters–blue, red, purple, wonks, jokesters, professionals and amatuers, alike–that make the site so good.

p>And let’s not forget the sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, dickheads – they all adore BMG. They think it’s a righteous site.
Or, “singes mangeurs de fromage” if you will. Mustn’t forget those.
who I congratulated first among the proprietors?

p>I’m trying to be very olive branchy.
…as I alluded to you your political blog thread.

<
p>A perect example of extracting out of context – a gripe about BMG, mixed in with a dozen congratulatory comments, one even advocating reading and posting here according the the Sacred Rules…
<
p>Oh, you’re welcome.
Are derived from divine revelation? Truly, Peter, The Phoenix award is flattery enough for one day, don’t you think.
