JAMAICA PLAIN – Jamaica Pond was the scene of an escape recently. The escapees included over 700 trout of all types and a few Atlantic salmon weighing up to 15 pounds each. Governor Deval Patrick, aided by over 100 local school children, helped the fish into the water.
Reports that Gov. Patrick jumped in himself to demonstrate the pond's purity to the fish could not be confirmed.

The Governor, who hadn’t seen a salmon outside of a plate in a five-star restaurant, was surprised to learn that fish have scales.
