I keep expecting this thread to show up, but not so far.
Obama gets NC in his column the second the polls close. Indiana was a must-win for Clinton, and by all appearances she won it. Can we continue the BMG tradition of calling races foolishly early?
CNN’s talking heads are licking their chops at the idea of Clinton losing the whole thing.
Me, I say it looks the same as we’ve seen since about day one: a sliver more people prefer Obama to Clinton so far. Let the people vote.
Oh, and the Celtics are playing LeBron James & Co…thankfully in Boston.

The press neglects to mention McCranky’s ongoing poor showing in GOP primaries since he was named presumptive nominee March 4th:
<
p>And don’t forget that on March 4th, Huckabee got upwards of 35% of the votes in several states that day, and Paul also made decent showings. The GOP was and still is severely fragmented, to the point that 20+% of GOP voters are casting protest votes against their presumptive nominee. This is big news. Shame it isn’t being reported.

by not bothering to put a blurb in the primary voters guide. for $1,000 he could have had his campaign statement mailed to every voter in OR. what an incompetent idiot. message to OR: I, John McSame, don’t care about you.

I suppose McSame McCranky has the strategy of since I didn’t try, it doesn’t matter.
<
p>But my experience is that the folk who pay attention and vote DO care about being ignored. Um, sort of like Mallificent Syndrome [you didn’t invite me to your party so I am going to curse you] – theme and variation.

On McCain:
<
p>While I agree the support for McCain is weak in his party, considering 20% of all primary voters bothered to show up and cast meaningless protest votes thats pretty significant. But when push comes to shove the GOP will probably in the end get most of these voters to come back by scaring them from the Democrats. Most of these voters hate the conservative McCain for not being conservative ENOUGH so where these votes would go is a crucial question.
<
p>If Bob Barr runs he could get some of them but probably not enough to have a Nader effect. If McCain nominates a hardcore base pleasing conservative all bets are off that this will have any real effect.
<
p>But it does show the Republicans are divided all the more reason IMHO for the Democrats to unite now and not waste two months on an expensive divisive primary when the outcome will not change one bit between now and Denver.
<
p>Barack Obama is our nominee, its time for Senator Clinton to gracefully concede, especially since she has won a state tonight in Indiana. It would be much nicer for her and the party if she dropped out after a win tonight than after a loss in Denver.
<
p>Oh and another too early prediction Celtics take it in 5.

… the Limbaugh Effect?

Especially in the first comment. There is a fair chance that win was not a true win.
sabutai says
If we get to throw around the at best questionable “Limbaugh effect”, we also get to throw around the “steamingly corrupt Gary machine effect”. Those Lake County shenanigans last night were straight out of Zimbabwe.

Late reporting due to absentee ballots?

Both have played far better than they did last night and both will hopefully do better in the next contest.
