I can’t believe I’m so late to this party! But I still beat CNN. 😀
With 84% of the vote in, BMG News declares Hillary Clinton the winner of the Indiana primary.
✓Clinton 537,776 52%
Obama 499,004 48%

Beat ya, sucker. 7:10 pm.
It’s easy if you just call it ’cause you feel like it. But BMG’s highly sophisticated and proprietary election software has been working overtime processing the results from something-or-other county in Indiana to, you know, figure it all out. Or something.
<
p>Anyway, that’s our story, and we’re sticking to it!
Why is the entire rest of the state almost completely counted, and we’ve still got bupkes from Lake?
They won’t release numbers from the county until they’re all counted, a bit curious.
What’s curious about counting all the votes? Hasn’t making sure that every vote counts been a conversation topic on this forum recently?

Even those cast in Michigan 🙂
It’s just rare to hold results until the last possible second…why not release counts-in-process, which is standard m.o.?
Here’s some background info on their voting machines
A Lake County mayor was on CNN listing off towns and cities who’d completed their tally and turned them over to the County Elections Board. Against any legitimate rationale, the county board sat on the info as long as it could. Strange, huh?
Remember the common voting problems in inner cities? Massive irregularities in Roxbury and Dot leading the Feds to take over the Boston election department? Well, what’s the principal city in Lake County? Good old Scary Gary! And let’s not forget about other wonderful places such as Hammond, Dyer, East Chicago, Schererville, and Merrilville! These places really have a firm grasp on voting practices. 😉
Up with the Ban! 😀
I’ve been watching the counts on CNN.
<
p>As the precinct count went from 88% to 91%, Hillary’s lead shrunk from 38k to 21k.
<
p>This could get interesting yet.
Lake is 27,991 BHO to 9,470 HRC with 28% reporting.
<
p>If that ratio holds up, and the 28% is proportional to the population (i.e. people/precinct is fairly constant), this projects to:
<
p>BHO 99,968
HRC 33,821
Gap 66,146
<
p>which just may translate to an Obama win…
<
p>Of course, the vote isn’t in 100% everywhere else, but I don’t see any big Clinton areas with a lot of unreported votes.
<
p>This is going to be close.
The over/under for Obama for the remaining vote is 60%. If he goes 60%+, he should win it.
<
p>Of course, because these are proportional elections, who “wins” a primary this close should be irrelevant (it doesn’t move the delegate count much, if at all). And yet most of us pretend that It Means A Great Deal.
This could be very close. I think Hillary will hold on, but we’re looking at Guam-like margins.
<
p>Too bad that Indiana relies heavily on electronic voting systems with no real audit mechanisms- we can never be all that sure what happened.
…the people who run Lake County certainly seem to be trying their best to help out Obama…
