This video is beginning to spread through the blogosphere today. The Advisor in question is denying he said it…and says if you listen closely he says “white house.” I turned it up as loud as I could, and I’m not sure but I lean towards hearing the n word. I’m sure someone will do some sort of audio analysis.
UPDATE:
After listening to the original documentary clip, I cannot hear at all his comments that are whispered. He still does seem to say who cares about indiana they are shit… it is unclear to me he is referring to the pollsters…
I agree it would be bad for the Obama team to be linked to this. I hope that is not the case.
If Obama’s team is not linked to it, and the mainstream media picks it up, and links it to Hilary’s “screw ’em” comments – it could be bad for her as well… we’ll have to see how it plays out.
But it doesn’t reflect on Hillary either way. It just shows that A-holes are a dime a dozen.
Do yourself a favor and read Ben Smith, the actual part of the movie released in theaters 15 years ago, for goodness sakes. Where is clear that he’s saying that the pollster don’t know sh** (which I think we can all agree with at this point). Then the second part is doctored.
<
p>Watch the actual footage … starting at 4:45, but for context take about 5 minutes and hear the entire part preceding.
<
p>
<
p>Hopefully no one in the Obama campaign will get linked to this, it will be ugly if it does. There is no need for this.
Just thinking out loud?
all thoughts should be shared.
Fom Ben Smith
<
p>I don’t like the way this smells. Is this a rethug tactic?
Do you know who the user was?
<
p>The video is now set to private, but if we knew the You Tube poster we could at least see what else they posted. Maybe get an idea of their slant.
someone is trying to start a fire. Political arson via some sick fuck.
on the You Tube page and closed it, I wish I still had it up to see what else the poster had up there. Figured if you are online now maybe you might have it up as well. Oh well.
<
p>I don’t think that it will get much traction unless one of the campaigns are somehow linked to the video (how’s that, better?) If not, it’s over today and won’t leave the blogoshere.
Good.

<
p>This is very suspect, imo.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…
<
p>It sounds like: how would you like to be the White House right now. (that’s my ears though) But if you put a caption in front of it….
<
p>I wanted to check the original poster, since the person said they didn’t doctor it, they just enhanced it. Ben Smith is talking to someone about the video.
It sounds to me that Kantor is NOT saying Indiana folks are shit, but that Clinton/Gore opponents are based on the numbers.
<
p>This whole thing is perfectly staged for the Boston Herald.
Those who breeze the head lines will just see the garbage and will never read in to know the truth.
<
p>That is part of why I think this is a hit job.
Just when I think that there might be some hope for politics of hope, someone proves me wrong again. How is it that you didn’t get the memo? It’s positively self destructive for you and your candidate’s credibility to keep posting this stuff.
Don’t be.
<
p>Your swell, looking out.
deleting this diary.
<
p>This video is garbage and will give the hyper-partisans a venue to rail on Obama.
This video is garbage and will give the hyper-partisans a venue to
rail on Obamaaccuse each other of wrong doing.<
p>DISTRACTION!
The Video Clip is Bait
<
p>My take is above. This vid is political arson.
<
p>Ben Smith covers further here.
I first saw this story on HuffingtonPost, then ABC politics blog, talkingpointsmemo, Dailykos, and Politico – so I don’t think my posting it here just to let people know about it is that big of a deal… if you hadn’t seen it here you would have seen it on one of those other national blogs.
<
p>
“How would you like to be on a White House ticket.” That’s what I hear in the video posted by johnk.
<
p>I saw the controversial video earlier today, and my first thought is that it seemed doctored.
I kind of want to see that movie now … never saw it before.
At the same time that Patrick is leaking any story it can about DiMasi to cover his own defeats, video about 15 years old is dredged up to attack Hillary in the wake of Obama’s defeats.
<
p>Hope indeed.
I don’t think Deval Patrick made DiMasi take out a third mortgage from a friend/accountant/lobbyist while retooling legislation in a way favorable to that same friend’s clients.
…he’s made his share of bad calls. But I don’t think this sudden drumbeat of criticism and attack is an accident.
<
p>Another interpretation, of course, is that the governor is so ineffective that legislators figure they can indulge in a long, protracted leadership fight and still be able to tell Deval to sit on it when so inclined.
It offers nothing to either candidate and is misleading.
as a record of the lengths some campaigns will go to to slime the opposition.
might be behind the video, a poster at MyDD has it.
