All right, this isn’t politics.
But didn’t you get tingles up your spine watching John Lester in the 9th? To think that less than two years ago, he was told that pain in his lower back was Something That Could Be Very, Very Bad and now… 130 pitches and the biggest grin I’ve ever seen on Tek’s face.
I’m kvelling and I don’t even know the kid.
Please share widely!
Not only a great performance by Lester that just got stronger as the game went on, but the fourth no hitter caught by Varitek, a record that tells you what a value he is to the pitching staff.
<
p>After all that Lester has gone through, you have to feel great for him with this effort.
I don’t know that I have ever seen Fenway that loud. The place was ROCKING! Most exciting Sox game I have ever been to by far!
I was in the stands for Buccholz’s no hitter in his second start last year.
<
p>It’s funny the cross between building buzz (usually in or after the 5th) and nervous the “don’t say anything” attitude in the park. By the 7th or 8th it’s just a series of explosions after every out. And deep breaths while the Sox are up.
<
p>Interesting that both this one and that were blowouts, so everyone was almost rooting for the Sox to go down quickly. Odd, that.
<
p>The most raucus game I’ve been to was the marathon 2004 ALCS extra inning Ortiz bloop hit-ending game against the Yankees. Especially since we sat through a long, very cold night.
<
p>But the no-no is a great experience in person. A win, even a monumental win, is a bit more familiar. A no-no is quite unique.
this season this is the biggest. A no hitter by cancer-survivor Lester. Sox have the additional awesome pitcher that they needed right before their eyes.
<
p>Love it.
That was (this is) awesome on so many levels.
SportsCenter is all Boston today with a little Spurs talk thrown in.
Met him at a Jimmy Fund benefit during the winter and some of my friends worked with his dad to raise some money for cancer research during Jon’s treatment period. Such a solid guy who deserves all good things that have happened for him since.
I’m glad I stayed tuned in to watch Varitek hand him the ball afterward.
<
p>But at some point, I best this get gets tired of being Jon Lester, Cancer Survivor, and will want to be Jon Lester, Pretty Darned Good Pitcher.
Hi,
<
p>Anybody know where the World of Warcraft European servers are located? Someone said they are all in Britain but I am not sure. Would they have some in Germany, some in Finland etc?
<
p>I am trying to do a business plan for my own massive multiplayer game and was wonder how they spread out the resources.
