“Since I’ve been president, I want to remind you that we’ve been through recession, we have been through a terrorist attack, we have been at war, we’ve had corporate scandals, we have had major natural disasters…” Bush also spoke of the mortgage and energy crises…
LOL! When I heard Bush making this confession the other day, my jaw about hit the floorboard. He finally ‘fessed up to (some of) the disaster that has been his presidency.
The point he was wading through all that uncharacteristic candor to reach was that through it all, the economy has remained resilient. To me, this means that he’s saying “See, there’s always enough for Halliburton!”
Not surprisingly, CNN states: Bush most unpopular in modern history.
A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Thursday indicates that 71 percent of the American public disapprove of how Bush his handling his job as president.
“No president has ever had a higher disapproval rating in any CNN or Gallup poll; in fact, this is the first time that any president’s disapproval rating has cracked the 70 percent mark,” said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.
