With the end of the 2008 legislative session fast approaching, we have a lot of work to do. Although we have made great advances in achieving increased funding for important LGBT programs in the House and Senate Budgets, we still need to ensure that those increases are included in the final version of the budget. We also need to convince our legislators to move the Transgender Non-Discrimination bill out of study committee and ensure it gets a fair vote.
We will also be discussing pro-equality candidates running to be your next state legislators and the different ways you can get involved to ensure that we elect (and re-elect) pro-equality legislators to the State House. Campaign volunteering is a great way to enjoy the summer weather, meet other activists in your area, and help achieve full equality for the LGBT community.
