Dennis Kucinich read articles of impeachment on the house floor Monday. Even if the democratic leadership refuses to promote it, the public should know about this. And yet, the media has been largely silent. Even most lefty websites haven’t mentioned it. Why? I don’t get it.
Here’s a brief mention on the CBS news website

Here’s a link to the coverage on democrats.com

The silence is deafening. Perhaps everyone has just given up. It sucks.

I happened to turn on c-span last night and watched most of it.
<
p>I hoped, but didn’t expect to read about it this morning. So sad… There’s some chance for coverage, however: Olbermann will cover it (won’t he?). And, dollars to donuts it’ll be covered tonight on the “real” news–by Stewart and/or Colbert.
<
p>I expect McClellan’s (sworn!) testimony this Friday in front of the Judiciary Committee will bring the issue to the attention of the MSM; although, it might just become part of the “Friday Dump.” Just the fact I’m familiar with that term (and that I just happened to tune into c-span) makes me more likely to be following this than the average American by-stander (which is what most American are).

OK. Countdown has made Kucinich’s Articles of Impeachment the #1 story. God Bless Olbermann. Repeated at 10pm and 2am.

If he’s impeached right before the summer recess…then campaign season…then selecting officials…the trial…the vote…

p>I think there’s a good chance Bush would be out by March 2009.
farnkoff says
Bush-Cheney should go down hard, as an example to future presidents of what not to do. Not to mention the fact that they’re still doing damage, and possibly plotting worse.

November 5th.

is why the Democratic leadership in Congress is so allergic to the idea. At least start public hearings and let all the dirt see the light of day… (unless the Dems have too many skeletons in the closet themselves?)
<
p>When the Dems were in the minority before the last election, Conyers was chomping at the bit to impeach… now he is constantly making excuses for not pursuing it. I’ve heard rumors that he is threatened with losing his chairmanship or something of that magnitude. I don’t know if this is true, but it must be something big.
We need new leadership in congress.
<
p>And, we need to roll back the media consolidation that has taken place since the Telecommunication Act of 1996. FIve or Six big companies own the majority of our media. They have corporate interests being served by the current administration so of course they will not help impeach.
farnkoff says
And I’m not sure that Conyers, at 79, has the energy and stamina to see the impeachment process through. He seems like an exhausted individual. Feel free to correct me if my perception seems off-base.
