Congress is going on vacation in about 24 hours. As if they weren’t doing nothing already, it’s going to be an official 5-week period of nothing.

And why does he think that the president who has taken almost 900 vacation days (the most since previous record holder Reagan) should force congress to forgo their vacation?
I don’t know if he still holds this position, but he had been chair of the Republican Study Committee, which is dedicated to efficient government and removing pork projects, among other things. My guess is that he takes his job seriously and that he wants the other members to do the same.
