  1. I’m biased because I really, well, I wouldn’t say I dislike Edwards but I think he’s sort of lame.  But with one stroke we get:

    p>A)  Karl Rove as a human face — the guy’s going to sound reasonable, like a public servant who was just trying to do what he thought was right, service of country, family man, yadda yadda.  We’re better off with people thinking of the Emporer from Star Wars.

    p>B)  Pitched against:  John Edwards — I mean, anyone remember the debate against Cheney in 04?  Rove will be more knowledgeable and even if he’s wrong will be able to rattle off facts way better than Edwards.  All this 6 weeks in front of the election?

    p>I think Edwards is playing for himself instead of the party.  Shut up, let Barack run for prez and good god, don’t give Karl Rove a microphone.  Our message is better but that doesn’t mean we should put up Hannity and Colmes every night and just assume the better message gets through.

    • Al Gore. Maybe they could work on Global warming together, reducing their palatial estates, flying their private jets while they try to survive in a world of high energy costs like other Americans. Where do these “rich, holier than thou, I have my millions so let me save the world” people come from?

      p>The country had no stomach for Edwards and told him so. The idea of him as President is such a joke. Rove will carve him up verbally so it won’t be pretty.
