Curiously missing from the potential agenda this week in the house is (S 800). Its current status is listed as referred to the committee on House Steering, Policy and Scheduling. Hmmm, who is chairman of that committee? That would be Paul Donato.
As reported in Wicked Local Belmont via State House News.
House lawmakers, according to Rep. Paul Donato, D-Medford, were mindful of the Senate’s decision to pass the repeal on a voice vote, without requiring individual members to weigh in. The tactic is often employed to protect members from taking politically sensitive votes.Asked in a hallway interview whether the bill would come up in time for the July 31 deadline, Donato pointed to Speaker DiMasi’s office door, indicating where the decision would come from.
Disclosure – I am running against Paul Donato and Patrick McCabe in the Democratic Primary (35th Middlesex District).
The Herald is saying it will come to a vote.

But my guess is that DiMasi will bring it up. Guarino’s comments in the Herald are pretty definitive, so that if it didn’t come up now, it would look like DiMasi chickening out. He’s on the right side of this one, and my guess is he’s unafraid to show it.
