Fresh off his prime-time extravaganza tonight, Governor Deval Patrick has generously agreed to do a live blog with us on Wednesday at 5 pm Massachusetts time (3 pm Denver time, if you’re keeping track). Our goal is to integrate as much on-the-blog discussion into our conversation with the Gov as we can. So, if you can, please stop by BMG at 5 pm on Wednesday. We’ll have a special thread going to report on what we’re talking about, and we’ll take questions from the comments.
This is an experiment. We’ve never done an interview quite like this before, nor (we think) has the Governor. Further, he’s coming to the bloggers’ Big Tent to do it. Should be a fascinating time — hope you can join us.
UPDATE (By Bob) To the best of our knowledge, this discussion will exist only on-line in text form: it will not be audio- or video-recorded.

If so, it is 1pm here in MA.
<
p>As for the interview, maybe there could be some discussion of how he perceives an Obama presidency may help balance the MA budget. Improved Federal support for health care should be one area. I suspect we also may see more support for transportation infrastructure, renewable energy development and more support for education. On the flip side, the Federal budget is way out of balance, and that must be addressed to even a greater degree to offset any increases. Ramping down the $10B a month wasted in Iraq will be a good first step, but so much more is needed. It is not just a Federal issue, as it affects the State as well.

3pm MDT is 5pm EDT.
<
p>I’m not going crazy, am I?
lynne says
But does that mean it will take place at 5pm EST then?
charley-on-the-mta says
And we’re back where we started.
joes says
backwards turning of the time zone clock.
lynne says
Once you answer JoeS’s question, I’ll put it in my calendar. LOL
lynne says
and you are videoing or recording it too right, to post later?
johnd says
What a joke. He was going to get such national attention, the limelight, the interviews… and not a single person outside the Conv Center saw him other than over the talking heads shoulder.
<
p>Oh well…
lynne says
I was watching Cspan.
<
p>It hardly matters. He’s our guv and it was just nice to see him on the national stage. He got on the radar of the entire body of the national Democratic delegation, which actually does mean something.
<
p>Networking is everything.
noternie says
Change the channel when the talking heads come on. But from what I gather, different networks have shown different things in between their blather. One person said they didn’t get to see Schweitzer, another told me they did.
<
p>I’ve been watching cspan, so the only stuff I don’t see is what’s on when I’m watching the Sox on NESN.
<
p>Is it possible NECN didn’t show the Governor’s speech?
<
p>Either you’ve got to wrestle that clicker away from someone or get system that doesn’t require rabbit ears to get clear reception on the UHFs. Explore your options.

I hate it when people tell me what’s I’m supposed to think after hearing someone talk. I think I can figure it out myself, don’t need the spin (in either direction).
alexwill says
I heard most of it on NPR and then caught the very end on NECN. C-SPAN’s been playing everything, which is much better than interruptions by pundits, though PBS was playing more speeches than most networks with some talking.
lynne says
getting sick of Olbermann, much as I like him. It didn’t help that his lesser half was Tweedy most of the time. Ug! LET US WATCH for ourselves! Yeesh.
<
p>So Cspan it was, for most of the night.
