From the people who brought you “Pray Away the Gay“, now comes their newest installment!
Focus on the Family would like you to put your prayer powers to a new use: raining out Obama’s DNC speech in Denver.
The video was pulled this morning, but the internets has a pesky way of keeping videos around. Enjoy.
“Would it be wrong if we asked people to pray…to pray for rain? Abundant rain, torrential rain. Urban and small stream advisory rain. At a particular time, and a particular location? Say at August 28, right here at Mile High Stadium in Denver? During prime-time TV hour when a certain presumptive nominee is scheduled to make a certain acceptance speech at a certain Democratic National Convention?”
That’s Stuart Shepherd speaking. He’s managing editor of Focus on the Family’s Citizen Link.
asking god to pee on your political opponent? seems more worth their time and christian-like to pray for rain to douse the wildfires and irrigate the crops in california.
<
p>but 2 can play this game: if it rains that day it’ll be god’s reward to that parched state for feting obama, his chosen.
Absolutely, it sure seems to be so. And that’s why Shephard tried to backtrack after it was pulled by stating he was partly joking.

that the gop knows that Obama is popular within his party, and McCain isn’t so much. Otherwise, why the desire to have rain so heavy that cameras can’t see the stage? It’s a lot along the lines of McCain’s Paris Hilton ad, which states outright that Obama is popular.
a more suitable event such as Obama (along with McCain) visiting Rick Warren’s 22K member megachurch this Saturday.
<
p>Then again it’s all about politics and where they can have the biggest effect. Washing out a 22K member event compared to washing out an event that would reach millions.
<
p>lol, they’re too much.
spend their time praying for rain than doing things that would actually make an impact on the race… especially if they make absurd, desperate videos about it. He may as well be saying that the only way they have a chance to win this thing is if every time Obama wants to make a major speech, it gets rained out. Keep praying!
maybe what they should really be praying for is that all of McCain’s public speeches get rained out. That guy can’t help himself from screwing up on camera and in speeches and the Republicans can’t keep hiding him. It may take the forces of nature to do it for them.
That’s it? We don’t ask for anyone to be turned into salt, no horrid accidents, tornadoes, plagues of toads…not even hail or lightning? These people think a drizzle on the crowd is a triumphant move on God’s part against those who put the Beatitudes into practice?
<
p>These guys are getting soft.
According to this report, FoF pulled the video because some of their members complained. This is the first I’ve ever heard anything of the membership piping up in protest to its leadership. Meaningful?
It’s the first time I’ve heard of that happening as well, but then again it states it was only a dozen members who complained when they pulled it.
One of the stupidest ideas I’ve ever heard.

p>Good now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
