Deborah —
I have some important news that I want to make official.
I’ve chosen Joe Biden to be my running mate.
Joe and I will appear for the first time as running mates this afternoon in Springfield, Illinois — the same place this campaign began more than 19 months ago.
I’m excited about hitting the campaign trail with Joe, but the two of us can’t do this alone. We need your help to keep building this movement for change.
Please let Joe know that you’re glad he’s part of our team. Share your personal welcome note and we’ll make sure he gets it:

Thanks for your support,
Barack

…Some of us are old enough to remember this is the same Joe Biden that chaired the judiciary committee when they threw Anita Hill under the bus rather that confront Clarence Thomas. That should go over real well with the Hillary Demographic the Obama Campaign are trying to woo.

Comfortable in the role. Passionate. Effective at attacking McCain (heavily relying on McCain’s own words) without being nasty about it. This is going to go well.

And Biden is the right man for the job in today’s world.
<
p>Sure he has enemies and well as friends. In my view, that shows that Biden has not been afraid to do what he thinks he should rather than playing to the audience.

DTC booth at the town festival from 8 AM to 3 PM. We sold a boatload of Obama bumper stickers, signed people up to volunteer, and chatted with loads of people. The consensus on Biden is wholly positive. Some people were absolutely thrilled, saying they were early Biden supporters, and all said they felt Biden brought the right balance of experience to the ticket they were looking for and were pleased.
<
p>I think it’s a great choice, too. Well done.
<
p>P.S. The “How many houses do you have?” gaffe resonated throughout the day. Heh.

It’s a magnificent partnership. Obama’s cool to Biden’s hot. Obama’s deliberation to Biden’s passion. Obama’s break the mold to Biden’s tradition. Obama’s corner Starbucks to Biden’s corner bar. Yin to Yang. So different in style and image, but so similar in direction and belief. I love it.

Joe Biden is an excellent choice and it demonstrates Barack can handle having someone with strong views in the room with him!
<
p>Watch out though, it is just a matter of time that Michelle has a blow out with Joe.
<
p>We are not electing Michelle POTUS and she does not tell everyone else what to do!
<
p>I support Barack and Joe 100%!

They’ll be VP and First Lady, not housemates on “The Real World”. Give them a little credit, eh?
